Trombone TUNING
What does it mean to “tune” my instrument?
Simply put, getting your instrument set to the correct length so that it is possible to play all notes in tune. This setting does not mean that all notes are now in tune. This just ensures your instrument length is not causing tuning issues.
Steps to Tuning:
Breathing Exercises
Equipment Check
Mouthpiece Sounds (with reference audio if possible)
Long Tones (without & with reference audio)

Tuning Process
Using a tuner, play your best tone on the following pitches.
If needed, adjust your tuning slides:
If the pitch is high, pull the slide out a little
If the pitch is low, push the slide in a little
If you made an adjustment, play the tuning notes again to ensure you have your slide in the right position.
